Back for its 14th year, the Ridgefield-based Run Like A Mother® 5k road race is set for Mother’s Day, May 14, 2023!
Registration is now open for this beloved annual Mother’s Day event. An annual tradition for many, the race includes a women-only 5K distance, a Kids’ One Mile race, and a fun post-race party for the entire family. Run Like a Mother, Ridgefield’s largest race, begins at the Ridgefield Playhouse, with family members lining the course and cheering their athletes on. The final mile heads down historic Main Street before turning into Ballard Park for the finish line and a post-run celebration. 5K finishers will receive a commemorative medal, a soft technical shirt, and an insulated lunch bag.
New this year: In addition to individual competitive awards, participants can form teams with their friends and family and compete for awards such as Best Team Outfits and Greatest Age Spread.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Noreen L. Papa “Mothers: Live Your Life” Fund at the Ridgefield Library. Noreen Papa was an integral part of Run Like a Mother for many years, who passed away in 2013 from cancer. Library programming from the fund focuses on health and wellness for the entire community.
The race is produced by Ridgefield/Darien Running Company, recently awarded Best Running Store in America for 2022.
