Channel your inner Andy Goldsworthy and join us down in the meadow to create your earth friendly works of art, using only elements of nature, your bare hands, and your imaginations.
Leave your creations in place for other New Pond Farm members to enjoy.

Earth Day Celebratory Hike at New Pond Farm

10 – 11 a.m.
Join Program Director, Tim Laughlin, for a spring hike up to Mt. Baldy and along the spine of our property. Spring has sprung and you will discover woodland wildflowers, lush ferns, nesting birds, chorusing amphibians, and more! Celebrate the wonders that can be found when you let your senses connect with nature. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Sounds of Spring Night Hike at New Canaan Nature Center
Saturday, April 24th
Sessions at 5:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M.
Come explore the magic of spring and Earth Week with us! We’ll visit the Nature Center’s vernal pools and ponds to listen for the peeps and croaks of frogs and other amphibians that let us know spring has fully arrived! We’ll also journey through the woods and into the meadows in search of some awesome invertebrates, birds, and bats. If we’re super lucky, we might even get a chance to spot a critter or two! Join our Naturalists for this fun, interactive and earth aware hike to learn why these species are so important to our local ecosystem. Program will include an interactive hike and hands-on exploration of the nature center’s ponds and vernal pools.
Please arrive promptly at the start of your chosen time slot and sign in at our Check In Table behind the Visitor Center.
This fun & safe outdoor event is limited to 50 people per session to allow for proper social distancing. Face coverings are required for all guests over the age of 2.
