Meet the Leading Ladies of Bella Soiree, Kelly York and Heather Cody | Ridgefield Moms

Please share the backstory and vision of your business…

We created Bella Soiree this summer. For us, entertaining was always a huge part of our lives but, with the pandemic, that became a lot more complicated. We wanted to find a way to let our families and friends get together in a safe and enjoyable way and from that Bella Soiree was born. We will style and setup beautiful outdoor parties in your backyard, in one of our bell tents or we’ll give you all the materials to create it on your own. We think our event designs are awesome and will be a great we to celebrate long after the current situation has changed.

How would you describe your style?

We don’t just design event, we create memories. We are very versatile in our set ups, we don’t like to recreate the same style over and over. Clients come to us with vague, often challenging ideas of what they want and we find creative solutions. We are very detailed orientated and we really care about fully understanding our clients first. We create events that are both beautiful and have very special, personalized touches. We love to wow our clients so much so, that our events often bring them to tears, (in a good way)!

Where are you originally from an how long have you lived in town?

Kelly – I’m originally from the UK and moved to New York twelve years ago for love and I’ve lived in the area for nine years. With the same love, thank goodness! Plus another three, little loves of my life, a dog, fifteen chickens and some bees! My boys go to school in Ridgefield.

Heather – I am originally from Williamsburg, VA. Moved to NYC 15 years ago when I met my husband. We have lived in Fairfield County for the last 9 years, first to Fairfield, then New Canaan, and now Westport for the last 1.5 years. Our boys have attended school in Ridgefield for several years, so we are very familiar with this beautiful county.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you

Kelly – When I moved to New York I couldn’t boil an egg, so I decided to go to culinary school for baking and then worked at Carlo’s bakery, whilst they were filming the show Cake Boss.

Heather – People think that design and styling is all I’ve ever done. It is my true passion, so I understand why. I am GIA certified in diamond grading. For many years, I worked in Physical Therapy, and have enjoyed a passion for British Royalty. My biggest event client was for the 2018 SF World Rugby Cup.

Favorite things to do in your spare time

Kelly – Traveling, Crossfit, shopping, eating good food, helping local charities with fundraising and entertaining (in the good old days).

Heather – Spending time with my family, sailing, entertaining (when we could), travel, learning more about wine, volunteering, and helping with several charitable organizations.

How has the community been instrumental in getting you where you are now?

We live in a wonderful community where everyone is so supportive of each other. We started out with friends supporting us and then others saw our work and it’s grown from there and now we are fortunate to have many repeat customers.
