Owner, Recess Playworks
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I grew up in Darien, CT and after college lived in Spain for about a year. Then I moved back to the US and lived in CT, followed by Manhattan for many years before moving to Ridgefield after my second child was born 7 years ago.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I think people would be surprised by how superstitious I am!
Favorite things to do in your free time?
I love to spend time with friends and family. I enjoy playing tennis, skiing and planning fun
outings with the kids! Since I was a journalist for many years, I am a news junkie so I read and follow the news in my spare time and probably binge watch too many Netflix shows!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
While my focus now is on launching Recess PlayWorks, I was a journalist for many news in New York City at the Wall Street Journal and then worked with News 12 CT in Norwalk for many years, anchoring the morning news program and freelance reporting as well. For the past couple of years I have been active on the PTA for my daughter’s school in Ridgefield and enjoy volunteering for events.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Ridefield has been a wonderful and welcoming community. I have made many great friends here and my kids also love everything this town has to offer. We hope that Recess PlayWorks will be not only a fun place for families but become a place in our community for people to come together and support each other. We look forward to getting to know many new people whether they come to work or come with their kids to play, we are excited about becoming a special place within this great community.
