CELEBRATE ‘GIVING DAY’ AT THE RIDGEFIELD RUNNING COMPANY

The Iris Fund is participating in the region’s largest online day of philanthropy, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s Giving Day in Ridgefield on FEBRUARY 27, 2020! A dynamic 24-hour fundraising event that unites our community around local causes. In addition to our online participation, we’ll be celebrating all day at the Ridgefield Running Company. Come join us on Main Street where 10% of all proceeds will go to The Iris Fund!
To add to the day we’re thrilled to announce both that The Iris Fund has been named an Official Charity Partner of the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon and that we’ve secured our first corporate partnership with BOB Gear® by Britax! To make it fun for all we’ll be raffling off a bib to join our marathon team and a Revolution® Flex 3.0 Stroller from BOB Gear® by Britax!
The Iris Fund was established in July of 2017 and is named after Iris Crystal Aleman, who was born and died due to complications of preterm birth. Since then her family and friends have come together to raise over $220K from more than 450 donors- mostly from our local area. We exclusively support the research being conducted by a Mechanical Engineer and OBGYN (Drs Myers and Vink) at Columbia’s Preterm Birth Prevention Center. They’re determining what triggers full-term labor to eventually prevent preterm birth. We believe all women deserve to know how their bodies work during labor and we’re so inspired that those same answers will save and improve outcomes for our most vulnerable babies.
