Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. We have lived in Ridgefield for the past 12 years.

I have a daughter Maya 17 and Son, Ben who is 14.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I drove a tank during my service in the Israeli army. People always think that’s pretty cool!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My Grandmother, amongst others. All of my family resides in Israel and so I created a village for myself, here, just like my Grandmother taught me to do. She was the smartest, kind hearted woman I knew & a major influence in my life.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
We love cooking together. We love to sing in car rides ..to very loud music and so much more!

I am very lucky to be part owner of KaFo with two amazing women, All three of us had a vision and we work so well together because we all bring something unique to the table.
Where did the name Kafo originate? We LOVE coffee and are always interested in learning more!
KaFo means coffee in esperanto. Esperanto is a language introduced in 1887 by Dr. L.L. Zamenhof after years of development. He proposed Esperanto as a second language that would allow people who speak different native languages to communicate, yet at the same time retain their own languages and cultural identities. Esperanto doesn’t replace anyone’s language but simply serves as a common second language. Esperanto is politically unbiased and can be learned in much less time than most any other language. Why? Because it’s fun. Because you want to meet new people. Because you want to travel. Because you love languages. Because you love coffee. Really, any reason is a great reason.
“Science may never come up with a better office communication system than the coffee break” Kafo is located in the heart of Ridgefield where we think that everybody should believe in something. We believe that you will have another cup of coffee once you taste ours.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
We wouldn’t have been able to embark on this great adventure of ours if it wasn’t for this community. It has been so amazing getting to know everyone and experiencing the support & comradery of other businesses & patrons on Main St.
